Explorations

I love to work in serial formats, as you can see from the Bird Portraits, Slow Art and Waxing Poetic pages.  But sometimes it’s good just to experiment.  This page shows some of those experiments.  These are three-dimensional pieces that explore the material “Celluclay” (a paper pulp product). It’s fun to go three-dimensional and make friends with a new medium.  Come back to this page to see what else might come up!

The layered look is back! Well at least in these explorations they are.  These pieces are on small book board panels covered in museum board.  Then layers of paint are put on then sanded off to create a weathered look.  The images are created with stencils I’ve cut and sanding again!  I love that way these are coming out keep an eye out for more of this!
